Romanians protest against ‘corrupt, thieving’ government

Frence24, Feb. 13, 2017 – Tens of thousands of Romanians descended on the streets of Bucharest and other main cities over the weekend, calling on the government to resign amid accusations that it is attempting to water down the country’s anti-corruption laws.
The demonstrations, which on Sunday entered their 13th day, are estimated to be the largest staged in the country since Communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu was ousted and killed in a summary execution in 1989.
