CARACAS (AFP) – 2 Sep. 2016- Opponents of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said around a million people joined in a rally Thursday demanding a referendum on removing him from office.

“Between 950,000 and 1.1 million people” joined the rally in Caracas, the leader of the opposition Democratic Unity Roundtable, Jesus Torrealba, told AFP.
