A series of suppressive actions have been taken by the state security forces on daily basis to stop and extort motorcycle carriers who do delivery on their bike for living. Flocks of these security forces and police agents converge every day in the region between Towhid Square and Azadi Street. These flocks of agents attack motorcycle couriers in a coordinated manner to issue them heavy penalties which is thought to be for extortion under pretext of bogus accusations. Those couriers, who do not surrender to their demand, are either arrested and their motorcycle confiscated, or end up in a clash and destruction of people’s property. But knowing the outcome, the couriers that their motorcycle is the only source of living for them, resist and protest.
Rouhani’s government tries to compensate its budget deficit by extortions and through plundering people’s livelihood under different accusations, and one common way is by increasing pressures on shop keepers, taxi drivers and motorcycle couriers and even the vendors.
