The US representative to the Council of Human Rights in Geneva said the United States is extremely concerned over the violation of religious rights and freedom of speech in Iran. Iran continues to repress minorities and in many occasions stops their religious activities.”
US expressed dissatisfaction of Iran for not issuing travel visa to Ahmad Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur to investigate the human rights situation in Iran. “I am very disappointed that Iran has not issued such permission to Ahmad Shaheed,” said the US representative in Geneva.
Iran’s promoter of execution and torture, Javad Larijany who defends the wave of executions in Iran said: “execution or ’Qesas’ (retribution-in-kind) has an especial characteristic in our system. I think westerners also have need to examine this law.”
