Kiev and the pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine signed a ceasefire agreement on Friday in Minsk, Belarus. According to the statement signed issued by the Ukraine Presidential Office the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe will be overseeing this ceasefire.
Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko described the goal of this agreement with the separatists as preventing more bloodshed. On the other hand, pro-Russian separatists in Luhansk confirmed the ceasefire and Russia welcomed the agreement.
