In a special interview with Italian TV- Channel 5, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance Maryam Rajavi emphasized: “The right way to confront the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions is to impose the hardest economic and oil sanctions, to remove PMOI from the terrorist list and to support the Iranian Resistance.

Referring to recent victory of Iranian Resistance in the European Court of First Instance, the Italian TV said: “The European Union was not able to present the European Court of First Instance acceptable evidence about PMOI being involved in terrorism; consequently the Court ruled against the decision of the European Council of Ministers to freeze PMOI assets.”

Italian TV added: “Maryam Rajavi’s struggle for achieving democracy first took her sister; then it came to her other sister’s turn who was killed under torture by Khomeini while she was 8-month pregnant; and ultimately it was her brother-in-law’s turn. This is the family tragedy of Maryam Rajavi that has turned her to a symbol of struggle against her country’s dictatorial regime.

Q: In your view how international community could stand against the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions which serve its military objectives?

Maryam Rajavi: “I think the right policy would be to impose the toughest economic and oil sanctions against the Iranian regime, to remove our movement from the terrorist list and to support the Iranian Resistance.”

Italian TV added: The resistance that Rajavi is its spokeswoman is an anti-thesis to the rule that Ahmadinejad is its president; a fact that has made Maryam Rajavi to live in exile in France, a life under escort and protection.

Q: In your view, how capable is the Iranian regime to control the Iranian society?

Maryam Rajavi:” The Iranian regime has never been so weak; presently only by suppression and street mass executions it can keep the power; from economical point of view, despite astronomical oil income, it is on the verge of bankruptcy. ”

Q: Italy is Iran’s important economic partner; do you think this policy would be a mistake in the long term?

Maryam Rajavi: “I think neither in short nor the long term, this policy has positive outcomes for Italy; the mullahs ruling Iran use the money they obtain from their trade relations in investment in nuclear project and export of terrorism.”

Italian TV5 added: the solution that Maryam Rajavi presents is quite clear; international community including Italy must not appease the Iranian regime because it could lead to World War III.
