2000 students of the Teacher Training University in Pardis, Karaj (40 kilometers west of the capital) held a gathering outside the school’s cafeteria shouting anti government slogans.
The protesters chanted, “Students will die but never be humiliated” and “Guns, tanks, Harasat[members of the security], are no longer effective”.

The angry students carried placards and banners reading, “Dean of Students Affiars must resign”, “Dean of Extra Curricular Activities must resign”, “Gender segregation in outdoor activities is an insult to students” and “Hollow promises are no longer effective”.

The protest started mainly to complain the poor condition of university services; however it rapidly turned into an anti-government demonstration.
