Al-Sharqiya TV revealed a document showing Nouri Maliki and his al-Dawa Party gaining control over all of Iraq’s military and security organs. Al-Sharqiya TV reported: “This document reveals the control and hegemony of the Commander-in-Chief office over all security institutions.”
This document mentions eliminating the role of the Army Headquarters and distancing it from Iraq’s security dossier, going on to show that 10 of Iraq’s 14 division commanders are affiliated to one particular party. This document also reveals that 8 of 9 military operations commanders are affiliated to one particular party.
