Clashes erupted and continued yet again in eastern Ukraine. The United Nations has expressed concerns that the expansion of such clashes to urban areas and cities such as Donetsk and Luhansk will lead to the displacement of many people. Some people have already fled for safe refuge in other areas.
The UNHCR regional director says what they are afraid of is military operations. Intensifying attacks near cities can lead to people being displaced or massacres, the official added, going on to say this condition will result in provoking pro-Russian separatists.
