Iraqi Member of Parliament Najibe Najib from the Kurdistan Coalition backed the peaceful solution for Ashraf residents and respect for international laws.
“We, as MPs from the Kurdish Coalition, approve the international solution that will lead to the residents’ settling in third countries,” she said. “We have time and again expressed our support for this solution.”
“Iraq, in the current situation, is in a political crisis that has impacted all issues around the country,” this Iraqi MP added. “Refusing to implement international decisions regarding the subject of Ashraf, makes the situation in Iraq and the region as a whole, even more obscure. All human rights organizations have called on the Iraqi government to respect international laws, with the main issue being providing necessary protection for Ashraf residents.”
