A group of students from Shahr-e Kord University clashed with the Basij militants on Sunday after the militants harassed the students, mostly from the college of veterinary, and prevented them from having memorial ceremony on Moharram. The students chanted slogans against the recent acid attacks on women and girls in Isfahan. Apparently one of the victims of acid attacks was sister to one of the students.

Basij militants used pepper spray and police batons on the students injuring Akbar Panahandeh, of the veterinary college. He is has been hospitalized since and his overall condition is reported to be bad.
