The commanders of Awakening Councils and the leaders of Arabic tribes expressed their opposition to Iranian president’s visit to Baghdad and rejected meeting with him. The commanders of Arabic tribes and Awaking Councils rejected participating in any visit or dialogue or activity that is related to Ahmadinejad’s visit.

The observers regarded this stance as boycotting Iranian president’s visit to Iraq and Iran’s activities in Iraq.
