Iran: Nationwide teachers’ demonstration in Tehran and 20 other cities

Complementary reports from Iran show that at two sites in the capital Tehran and 20 other cities in Iran, teachers are demonstrating against repression and job insecurity.
In Tehran, more than 1300 teachers have gathered in front of the Education ministry at Palestine-Talghani intersection. A similar gathering has taken shape in front of the Parliament in Tehran.

In Kermanshah, southwestern Iran, teachers have gathered outside the ministry of education office protesting government illegitimate impositions on teachers. In addition to the demonstration, some 2000 teachers have signed a petition.
Reports indicate that Shiraz teachers are continuing their protest.

In Ilam and Nahavand, western Iran, teachers are joining the nationwide protest chanting slogans outside the ministry.

Another city is Kerman, southern Iran, where unconfirmed number of teachers are gathering in front of the Governors’ office.
One report says that all of these protesters are wearing shroud, giving the indication that they are not afraid of being killed by the government suppressive agents.
