The Al-Nahar daily, published in Beirut, wrote that France’s objective of establishing military base in the United Arab Emirates was to support the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) against any strategic threat for the oil resources such as the thereat caused by the Iranian regime.

This daily added that France was after improving its cooperation with the Americans from Persian Gulf to Lebanon and Afghanistan as well as strengthening its interests.
