AFP – 3 December 2014 – A car bomb targeted the residence of Iran’s ambassador in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Wednesday, killing at least one person, security officials and witnesses said.
“One of the three guards at the residence was killed,” a security official said.
The blast severely damaged the residence, leaving a hole in the outer wall. Nearby houses and cars were also damaged.

The identity of the attackers was unclear.
Violence has increased in Yemen since members of the Shiite Huthi militia, also known as Ansarullah, overran Sanaa in September.
The Huthis are accused of receiving backing from Iran.
