Neinawa Province Governor Athil Al Nujaifi said demonstrators have raised their demands to overthrowing the government, the London-based Asharq Al Awsat daily reported.
After Maliki’s government delayed responding to the demonstrators’ requests, protesters have raised their demands to overthrowing the government, the Neinawa governor said.
A number of Maliki’s advisors say they haven’t responded to the demonstrators’ demands because the responses were difficult, and they believe if they did reply the protesters would raise other requests, Al Nujaifi added.
