The Syrian uprising has been continuing for 20 months and according to all analysts and even the regime’s own officials, Iran is supporting the Syrian dictator through money and weapons. If it weren’t for this support Assad would have been overthrown by now.
Why is this regime preventing Assad’s overthrow with all its might? With a close look at the explosive situation inside Iran and the international status of the regime, one can come to understand that Syria has a strategic importance for Iran, as the mullahs have said themselves. Syria is the bridge for Iran to interfere in Lebanon and Palestine. Therefore, the overthrow of the Syrian regime is the beginning of the mullahs’ overthrow.
On the other hand, Iran has escalated the number of executions on a daily basis, with 250 counts from the beginning of this year, most being carried out collectively.
Therefore, it is up to the international community to support the Iranian Resistance and its core, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, which is the main force behind change and overthrow in Iran. The first practical step is to recognize the National Council of Resistance of Iran as the legitimate representative of the Iranian people, and the mullahs’ membership in the UN should be given to this council.
Assad’s downfall is near, and one can already hear the sounds of the mullahs’ bones breaking.
