In a misogynistic and reactionary move by the mullahs in Iran, a concert with female musicians playing in it was barred from performing in Isfahan. According to government run news agency ISNA, the music band was scheduled to play folkloric music in the Cultural Heritage Festival in Isfahan, central Iran. But because some of the musicians were female, the government canceled the concert and said the women cannot be part of the event.
ISNA added that despite a ban on Iranian women playing in the festival, Korean female musicians were allowed to play, another suppressive measure against Iranian women under the mullahs’ regime.
