Horrified of the repeat of the 2009 Iranian people’s uprisings, Hamid-reza Moghaddam-far, an advisor to the Revolutionary Guards Commander resorted to bullying and intimidations when he said “If the enemy decides to repeat the 2009 events, the IRGC would get involved.”
In an interview with local media he added that if the state security police requires the assistance of the IRGC and the paramilitary Basiege force, then we can respond.
In a clear reference to the 2009 uprisings after the previous sham elections when millions of people purred on to the streets calling for their vote and eventually for regime change, the IRGC advisor added that in case the enemy decides to take advantage of the situation and repeat the 2009 events through software disruption or deviance in the people’s votes, then the IRGC can get involved.
