Iraqi MP Hossein Sharifi of the Ahrar faction said senior religious leaders repeating their call for change through the upcoming parliamentary elections shows that the government has failed in the two terms under Maliki.
He said going from one defeat to another and from one corruption to another has led Iraq to see its wealth being plundered and its population being murdered on a daily basis because the government has during the past eight years failed miserably in all fields. This is why senior religious leaders are continuously calling for change and we believe if change does not take place we will enter a more difficult phase, he added.
