I was deeply disturbed by the outrageous behavior of the Iraqi security forces during the inspection of the residents on Monday August 27, 2012. The continuous harassment of the residents which led to a violent and brutal attack on Monday must be strongly condemned by the United Nations and the US Government. It is a shame that under the eyes of the international community the Government of Iraq allows itself to use violence against residents of Ashraf.
It is time to recognize the maximum flexibility and restraint shown by MeK leadership and residents of Ashraf and send a clear message to the Iraqi dictator that the international community no longer tolerates such activity.
