Iraq-4-All website, 15 Jan 2013 – The Association of Jordanian Lawyers in Defense of Ashraf described UNAMI chief Martin Kobler’s meeting with Iranian Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) agents and discussing the issue of Ashraf and Liberty residents crosses a red line that can be followed up in court.
The recently published joint Pentagon-US Congress report on Iran’s MOIS refers to the names of a number of MOIS agents named Ibrahim Khodabandeh, Massoud Khodabandeh and Anne Singleton, who were involved in the past years in carrying out numerous plots against our clients in Ashraf and Liberty and their families in Iran, the lawyers said in their statement.
However, UNAMI chief Martin Kobler’s completely suspicious and biased role has paved the path for such conspiracies and serious human rights violations and refugees rights of Ashraf and Liberty residents. By involving Iranian officials in the case of refugees stationed in camps Ashraf and Liberty, and especially by meeting with MOIS agents and discussing the case of Ashraf and Liberty residents, Kobler has crossed a dangerous red line and committed a crime that can be followed up in court.
These revelations explain why Martin Kobler has always refused to officially deny the embarrassment of his meeting with Iranian officials and discussing the case of Ashraf and Liberty residents.
We once again raise the attention of the United Nations Secretary-General, US government, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay to Martin Kobler’s measures and demand his immediate replacement and an independent and impartial query by the UN in this regard.
