For one and a half years, Iranian Mojahedin have been appearing outside the UN
Tribune de Geneva, 22 Oct 2012 – A sit-in which they began over 18 months ago is the longest organized event in Geneva. The Iranian Mojahedin and their symbols, that remind us of the violence and aggressions against Ashraf residents and today in Camp Liberty, are part of the prospect. Their peaceful war has ended with the moving of the mountains. After the UN and Europe, the US has taken their movement (PMOI) off of the list of terrorist organizations.
However, the end of the war is still far away. 3,000 PMOI members in the Iraqi Camp Ashraf, who have transferred to Camp Liberty, are still facing the malice of the Iraqi regime and its Iranian ally. The National Council of Resistance of Iran has requested Camp Liberty to be granted refugee status to have true protection. Their spokesman, Behzad Naziri, calls on the international community to prevent the plundering of the PMOI’s property. The residents are forced to leave behind their belongings in Camp Ashraf, including medical equipment, one power generator and various moveable assets and buildings that these Iranian dissidents have estimated being worth millions.
