The Italian Committee of Parliamentarians and Citizens for Iran Freedom issued a statement announcing the PMOI is to be delisted form the US black list and the Iranian Resistance is the legitimate alternative against the religious dictatorship in Tehran.
Rome, 22 September 2012
The Italian Committee of Parliamentarians and Citizens for Iran Freedom, in recent years supporting the Iranian people’s resistance and Ashraf residents for democratic change in Iran, welcomes the US decision to delist the PMOI from its terror its.
This is an act of justice demanded by the Iranian Resistance, renowned judges, MPs, NGOs and citizens from across the world for the past 15 years.
Our committee has always believed this designation was illegitimate from the very beginning and aimed to appease the mullahs’ regime. Our committee had placed all its efforts in the past to have the PMOI delisted from the European Union list and the name of this organization was finally removed from the EU list in January 2009.
The Italian Committee of Parliamentarians and Citizens for Iran Freedom expresses its gratitude of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance for leading this vast global campaign, taking principled positions, showing patience and perseverance, and directing the peaceful solution for the Ashraf and Liberty crisis.
This delisting is a serious blow to the policy of appeasing the mullahs and opens the path for democratic change in Iran. The Italian Committee of Parliamentarians and Citizens calls on the United States and United Nations to impel the Iraqi government to transfer Ashraf residents with all their property based on UN and US agreements and in respect to international laws.
We call on European governments and the US to recognize the Iranian Resistance to overthrow the dictatorship ruling Iran and stand alongside the Iranian people and their organized Resistance.
