Dozens of medical science students at Tehran Medical Science University protested on Wednesday Oct, 08 against the policy of accepting students on the basis of receiving money from them. The protest gathering took place in front of Ibn-e Sina amphitheater of the college of medical science at Tehran University.
The students insisted that this policy is illegal and pointed to the injustice to other students who are unable to pay due to poverty. They said those with money can enroll regardless of education requirement and others who are unable to pay would be deprived of perusing higher education. They said such a distinction would further deepen the rift in the society and increase the apathy among low budget students.
They vowed to continue their protest and said they would take the matter to court and other legal authorities to fight such an injustice.
