INTV, 18 Sep 2013 – The website belonging to former Revolutionary Guards commander Mohsen Rezaei reported a senior Iraqi military commander has been killed in recent Syria fighting.
This state-run source wrote, “Zolfaqar battalion commander Abu Hajar was killed in clashes near Damascus. He was an Iraqi Shiite who had gone to Syria from around a year ago. During this period he was able to participate in various operations against terrorists (!).”
