Iran: 3 days of strike by copper mine workers in Kerman

Workers of Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine in Kerman, southern Iran went on strike for 3 days this week to protest the arrest and imprisonment of a number of their co-workers. The strike began last Saturday and lasted until Monday Jan. 4th.
A number of workers from Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine were arrested and imprisoned about 3 months ago after they protested against poor workers’ living condition and unpaid wages. Their cases are still in limbo and no official charges have been filed against them yet.
