In an article the Keyhan Daily, publishing the views of Khamenei’s faction, defended gender separation and wrote: Students, after passing 12 years of separated education in high schools, enter mixed university classes. Joint boys and girls classes at universities result in strengthening of emotions and boastful showiness by the males and females. The reason is that both sides are attracted to each other.
Such emotions in time lead to an extreme desire for entertainment and turn into a daily routine and effect individual lives and establishment of families through marriage. (Khabar Online – July 16, 2014)
