The Iranian regime’s security agents and henchmen attacked political prisoner Ms. Faranak Farid in prison, causing serious hearing problems in her left ear. Considering the prison’s limited medical supplies and medicine, this poet from Tabriz is losing her hearing.
Ms. Faranak Farid was arrested on 3 Sept 2011 while shopping in Tabriz. Despite the release of all other female protesters who took part in rallies against Lake Urumieh drying up, Ms. Farid remains in prison.
Amnesty International has issued a statement on her deteriorating physical conditions, demanding immediate medical care for this civil activist.
