In a live television interview that was aired with a delay of one hour due to internal factional disputes, Mullah Rouhani shed light on just the tip of the iceberg regarding the corruption and enormous thefts inside the mullahs’ rule.
“We have run into very shocking cases of corruption. An individual has received credit from oil money, and we don’t even know why. The amount is very high, around 85 to 90 trillion rials (around $3.7 billion). 80 to 90 trillion rials are equal to the country’s revenue in about one month. Meaning the entire country receives around 100 trillion rials in one month, and the entire construction budget – which is coming to an end – is about the same amount,” he said.
