Dr. Ayad Allawi, leader of the Iraqiya coalition, described Nouri al-Maliki’s maneuvers under the name of reforms, which are to overshadow his interpolation, as a failure.
“The reforms project has failed and we reject the implementation of early elections under the supervision of Nouri al-Maliki”, said Ayad Allawi according to a report by Baghdad TV.
In another development the Head of Iraq’s Kurdistan Autonomous Region described the Maliki government’s military activities against the Kurdistan region as a declaration of war.
“Sending military forces towards the boarders of Kurdistan by the Maliki Government are equal to a declaration of war”, said Massoud Barezani, Head of the Iraq’s Kurdistan Autonomous Region, in a meeting with the US Ambassador, according to Baghdad TV.
“We might refer to past UN resolutions regarding military no-fly zones over Kurdistan.”
The Kurdistan Coalition announced: “This is the right of the Kurdistan region to be armed to confront any threat”.
“The Nouri Maliki government has threatened to cut-off Kurdistan’s $8.5 billion budget”, revealed Bayazid Hassan from the Kurdistan Coalition.
