
Rouhani’s deputy labor minister said the number of employed workers in the country has reached 22 million, and during the next 10 years this number must increase to 35 million. Taei however admitted there is no possibility of them entering the job market.
The state-run Mehr news agency reported on July 1st, “The active population and the working age in Iran is over 63 million. However, according to Iran’s statistics center only around 23 million people are employed and currently there is no method of using around 40 million people to develop the economy.”
