Iraqi MP Ra’ad Dehlki warned the Iraqi government on its insistence on violating the rights of Ashraf residents.
“The European Union’s special envoy on Ashraf will have a role in finding an adequate and fair solution for this issue,” Dehlki emphasized. “Through this, he will report very clearly whatever takes place in Camp Ashraf to European parties, and as a result the international community.”
The Iraqi MP also stressed on the importance of fulfilling human rights laws in regards to Ashraf residents. “If Maliki’s government insists on violating Ashraf residents’ human rights and the non-refoulement principle, it might actually face international sanctions,” he added.
