UK Foreign Minister Phillip Hammond expressed his country’s opposition to Assad taking part in the anti-ISIS coalition, saying the Assad “venom” cannot be the “anti-venom” for ISIS.
The Assad regime was the root cause of the current crisis in Syria, he said in the United Nations Security Council.
Assad provided the grounds for the rise of ISIS and other fundamentalist groups. He released the fundamentalists from prison and is behind all the horror in this country, he added.
