Dear Compatriots, Friends of the Iranian Resistance ,Dear Friends of Ashraf,
I salute all of you dear compatriots for your presence in this gathering.
Congratulations to you a thousand times over for the great victory of the Iranian Resistance in a major campaign to revoke the unjust terrorist designation of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
You won and the mullahs and their advocates lost.
In a courageous act, Secretary of State Clinton has informed the US Congress of her decision to delist the MEK.
This is a correct decision which sets aside a serious obstacle on the path of the Iranian people and Resistance to achieve democracy in Iran.
This decision was long overdue. Nevertheless, we welcome this decision and we hope it would lead to a new policy on Iran.
We set our sights to the future, to an Iran which is free and devoid of suppression.
The time has come for the world to witness the true image of the Iranian Resistance for freedom by setting aside the false allegations.
The mullahs and their lobby in the United States spared no effort to try to maintain this unjust label.
In order to continue their survival, the mullahs embarked on the greatest campaign of demonization against the Iranian Resistance.
They are accusing you with all kinds of allegations that include being a cult because you persevered and refused to kowtow to the religious fascism. WHAT A CULT!
They disparage the combatants of freedom for their sacrifices on the path of the Iranian people’s freedom. This is merely a shameful invitation to surrender to the mullahs.
But surrender has no place in the traditions and history of the Mojahedin, Iranian Resistance, the Iranian people and you.
We will not rest until regime change and the establishment of democracy in Iran. Never, never, never!

Dear Compatriots,
The current situation and the removal of the terror label is the result of the Iranian Resistance’s perseverance in defending the ideal of freedom, as well as the result of your unrelenting efforts, my fellow compatriots, and it is also the result of determination on the part of residents in Ashraf and Liberty
You advanced the largest international campaign against the policy of appeasement and the unjust terror label. You held a 1000-day sit-in outside the State Department.
You tipped the existing balance of power.
Indeed, as Massoud Rajavi said, “The spring of freedom will come to fruition with us, in us and by us. It will not come for free. If we so desire it, we can and we must achieve it. This is the test, duty and responsibility of each and every one of us.”
Dear friends of the Resistance,
Inspired by this experience, a change in the policies of governments will also be achieved by your efforts only.
So, I call on all of you to embark on a campaign hundred times greater for democracy in our beloved homeland Iran.
And I call on the younger generation, women, and my daughters and sons inside Iran to make every effort to realize aspirations of the people of Iran, which is establishment of freedom and people’s sovereignty.
Dear Compatriots,
You have gathered today to voice protest over the presence of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Khamenei’s crony, at the United Nations.
Your message to all governments and the UN is this: The mullahs do not represent the Iranian people. They are the murderers of the Iranian people. Expel Khamenei’s crony from the UN. United Nation’s podium must not be given to the murderer of the Iranian people in order to spread the message of death and hatred. This regime must be expelled from the UN. Iran’s seat must be handed over to the genuine representatives of the Iranian people.
This regime is the prime source of instability and a global threat for peace and security. Let us make it absolutely clear; contrary to all propaganda, the people of Iran oppose the regime’s nuclear program. This regime needs nuclear bomb for its survival. The solution for this crisis is regime change and not more negotiation. Therefore, the UN and Security Council must take effective measure against the regime for its nuclear weapon program and interferences in Syria.
Today, there are two options: prolonging the mullahs’ regime or regime change.
The Iranian people have made their choice.
Your presence reflects the determination of the Iranian people for the mullahs’ overthrow.
So, today, the international community and governments must choose:
On the one hand, you have the mullahs’ regime, suppression, repression, execution and torture in Iran; export of terrorism and fundamentalism, meddling in Iraq, active support for Assad’s dictatorship and pursuit of nuclear weapons and threatening global peace and security.
On the other side you have the Iranian people and the Resistance with a clear demand: The overthrow of the clerical regime, and the establishment of a republic based on the separation of church and state.
We seek a free Iran, free elections, plurality, respect for human rights, rejection of ethnic and religious discrimination, gender equality, economic development, construction and friendship, and respect for international laws and conventions.
We seek a nuclear-free Iran, which would promote peace and security.
We are fighting for popular rule and people’s sovereignty. In the free Iran of tomorrow this will be the only criterion. This is the Iran that we are seeking.
We ask the international community and all governments to stand with the Iranian people.
We desire a definitive end to the policy of appeasing the religious dictatorship and supporting the Iranian people’s right to resistance and freedom. This is the right that we will no doubt obtain.
Dear Compatriots,
The mullahs’ regime is more vulnerable than ever before.
Its strategic ally, the Bashar Assad regime, is being overthrown and the mullahs are perpetrating every conceivable atrocity to preserve that regime. But the people’s uprising will certainly succeed in Syria and Syria will be liberated. Hail to heroes and heroines and martyrs of Syria.
Dear friends,
The situation inside Iran is explosive.
The mullahs continue to put on a hollow show of force. But it will get them nowhere.
The mullahs are terrified of the very existence of the Iranian Resistance. The mullahs know that the society’s explosive state is not sufficient in and of itself to bring about change; they know that the necessary element for change is the existence of an alternative.
The philosophy behind the terror label and the array of allegations and demonization is to reject the presence of a democratic alternative and the force for change in Iran.
The plots by the Iranian regime and its operatives in Iraq against the combatants of freedom in Ashraf are part of this very policy to maintain the regime. But, with the astonishing resistance by the residents of Ashraf, owing to the unrelenting efforts of each and every one of you, and widespread support by distinguished dignitaries in the US and throughout the world, the regime’s plots to massacre Ashraf residents have been averted.
They wanted to turn Camp Liberty into Liberty Prison in order to break down the morale of the combatants of freedom. But, the tradition of Ashraf residents and the ideal of the Mojahedin and the Iranian Resistance to achieve freedom cannot be defeated. This is why your enemies are defeated.
We ask all governments, especially members of the Security Council, to compel the Iraqi government to respect the lawful refugee rights of the residents.
And uphold their right to ownership of their property,
and the government of Iraq must end the repressive restrictions in camp Liberty as they await for resettlement.
The United Nations is responsible for the plight of the residents of Ashraf and Liberty. Continued silence vis-à-vis the Iraqi government’s repressive measures and any efforts to whitewash these measures are unacceptable.
The United Nations must declare Liberty a refugee camp in order to prevent inhuman pressures and restrictions by the Iraqi government.
This is the demand of the Mojahedin who seek freedom and the desire of their supporters, the Iranian people and the Resistance.

Dear compatriots,
You have proven that you have the power and the strength of achieving major objectives.
Therefore, with this faith in you, move ahead with the same perseverance and hard work. Expand your campaign and struggle,
Campaign in defense of the rights of the residents of Ashraf and Liberty,
Expand your campaign hundred folds to liberate Iran,
Expand your struggle for establishment of democracy and popular rule.
We can and must liberate Iran
