Renowned Iranian singer Madam Delkash passed away

-On September 2, 2004, the renowned and beloved Iranian singer Madam Delkash passed away.
Starting her professional singing at the age of 18, within two years she became the official singer of Iranian state radio and continued on until the 1979 revolution.
The policy of misogyny intensified after Khomeini came to power and singing was announced forbidden for women, leading to Delkash being forced to retreat to her home. Madam Delkash had a hard and suffering life during the dark years of the anti-human mullahs’ rule.
Having a very bright talent in music and singing, she began learning music from Ruhollah Khaleqi, a prominent Iranian maestro, and continued her work at the National Music Society.
After Madam Delkash’s demise, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, emphasized that the mullahs’ anti-culture policies and approach towards this popular and famous singer is a dark example of how the religious tyranny treats Iranian artists, especially women.
