
Forming Dijla Operation Command is against Iraq’s high interests
Following Maliki provocations, forming Dijla Operation Command and dispatching military forces to Kirkuk and Iraqi Kurdistan region that has led to a new crises between Erbil and Baghdad, in a joint statement about the current developments in Tuz Khormatu , Jalal Talabani, Iraqi presidnet, and Massoud Barzani, head of the Kurdistan region, at the end of an advisory meeting in Erbil, described that as causing tension.
The statement reads: Forming Dijla Operation Command is a destructive effort, since it is against Iraqi people high interests, permanent constitution and solid relations of Kurdish and Shiite nations as well.
Talabani and Barzani reiterated the nesessity of National Unity’s persistance on support of this relation and friendship and not let thsese relations be the victim of an individual’s will and tendency.
This meeting stressed on the strategic agreement between the Patriotic Union and Democratic Party, especially in this stage, since the agreement has reached based on strategic imperatives.
The meeting regarded supporting the agreement and its promotion as a necessity to serve the high interests of Kurdish people. In this joint meeting promotion of relations between Kurds and Turkamans was reiterated and it was decided to take required measures to safeguard the interests of all patrties.
