March on The White House to Protest Closing of Camp Ashraf

JourneyAmerica.com, 25 Nov 2011 – Organizer Sadi Talebi has announced there will be a march on The White House, December 12, 2011 to avert an impending massacre of Iranian dissidents in Camp Ashraf.
Camp Ashraf which has been a safe haven, and recognized as such by the Geneva Convention, for Iranian dissidents since its founding was formally transferred from American military control on January 1, 2009. The camp has come under assault several times with the most recent being April 8, 2011 when Iraqi security forces stormed the camp and killed 31 residents and wounded another 320.
The camp, located approximately 60 miles north of Baghdad is home to 3400 Iranian dissidents. About 1,000 of the residents are women and a third are former Iranian political prisoners. In addition to Iranian citizens, there are hundreds of United States citizens who are graduate students and have joined in solidarity with the dissidents.
Talebi says, “Once the camp is closed at the end of the year and the residents are dispersed, we will see another slaughters of innocent humans speaking out for their rights”.
Talebi says organizers are expecting hundreds of participants at the march and anyone seeking more information can contact her through the organization’s website, www.HRDIP.com or call 786-375-8752.
