On Saturday July 26 Mrs. Rajavi met with Mr. Johnny Almano, the Mayor of Rome. Carlo Ciccioli, deputy chairman of the social affairs commission of Italy’s parliament, and Mrs. Barbara Salta Martini, member of the parliament also attended the meeting.

The Rome’s mayor welcomed Mrs. Rajavi and presented her the symbolic medal of Italy’s constitution for defending human rights as well as the book about the history of Rome’s historic buildings.

The Rome’s mayor expressed his solidarity with the Iranian resistance and stressed: the people, the parliament and all offices in Rome are against the dictatorship ruling Iran and stand by the Iranian people and their resistance for achieving freedom and democracy.

Mrs. Rajavi said: Iranian regime seeks its survival in exporting terrorism and fundamentalism and in its efforts for acquiring nuclear weapon.

She presented the list of 20,000 PMOI martyrs to the Rome’s mayor and reiterated that the steadfast and non-compromising resistance of the Iranian people is the only answer to the illegitimate regime of the mullahs and the only way to rid the region and the world from this religious and terrorist dictatorship.
