Baghdad TV announced on Monday at 12 noon Mosul time the residents of this city began a general strike.
People of Mosul began their general strike in solidarity with demonstrators and protesters in the city’s Ahrar Square, Baghdad TV reported.
Mosul has been one of the hot spots in the recent month long protests against Maliki’s government, with demonstrators across the country demanding Maliki step down.
