In an interview with Asharqiya TV, Muhammad Dayeni, Iraqi MP from the Iraqi National Dialogue Front, said: The special groups affiliated to the Qods Force are vastly meddling in Diyala province and everybody is aware of these meddling. There are liaison commanders and officers that everybody knows and we have identified them with names.

Dayeni added: “I have to say with sorrow that one of the commanders who has presence in Diyala these days held a session with the special groups’ commanders three days before the operations started and assured them. He asked them to order those who had escaped to Iran to return.”

Muhammad Dayeni added: “The Iranian regime drew the border line unilaterally, which is in violation of international treaties because drawing border lines must be carried out by both countries’ technical committees, but unfortunately they kept silent regarding these measures and nobody opposed occupation of oil wells and posts by the Iranian regime.
