Peyamner News Agency, 22 Nov 2012 – Kurdistan Regional Government President Massud Barzani held a summit in Salahaddin with representatives of all Kurdistan political groups.
Iraq’s recent developments, especially the problems resulting from the formation of the Dijla Operations Command (DOC) in Kirkuk, Tuz and separated regions from Kurdistan were discussed in this session.
All political groups were in consensus that Iraq’s reign is now in a deep crisis, including constitutional breaches, efforts to use the army in political rivalries, making individualist decisions, violations of signed agreements, not providing basic services to the people, increasing financial corruption, continuing government crisis and the deepening of political complications.
Participants in this meeting expressed their consent against the formation of the DOC and military movements in separated areas from Kurdistan, in addition to violations of the constitution, as a threat in line with the repeat of chauvinistic attacks against the Kurdish people, assessing such measures as attempts to export the Iraqi government’s internal crisis to Kurdistan. Kurdish political groups stressed upon the necessity to immediately dissolve the DOC, adding they will use all legal and political methods for this purpose.
The participants also decided to issue a joint letter to the Iraqi National Alliance, its affiliated organizations and other political groups in the Iraqi Parliament to declare Kurdistan’s single position and united ranks of the people against constitutional violations, individualist threats, the threat of the return of dictatorship and violations of national participation.
The message of this session for all parties was to announce the common position and will of the Kurdish people and their political movements in defending the region’s security, the federal and legal democratic project in Iraq, using all political and legal means and dialogue and cooperation with Iraqi political forces to resolve these crises from their roots.
Emphasizing on reaching a solution through dialogue, all participants in this session expressed their support for Kurdistan Pishmarga forces for any possible development in the future.
