The status of Iranian refugees in Iraq is extremely concerning based on assessments made by human rights activists. Participants in an Arabic-Islamic conference, held Saturday night in Paris, expressed criticism that the new temporary Camp Liberty is yet to be connected to main water and electricity grids. Based on these remarks the officials in charge, including German UN representative Martin Kobler, have overlooked these shortages and similar to the Iraqi government claim the camp is under adequate conditions. Former Algerian Prime Minister Sid Ahmad Ghozali explains “the international community must increase the pressure on Iraq.”
On numerous occasions many have lost their lives as a result of Iraqi military measures against Camp Ashraf.
