Professor Zucker : MNF-I and US are committed to Ashraf protection and must not transfer it

On the fourth day of sit-in by the Iranians and families of Ashraf residents outside UN headquarters in New York, Professor Daniel Zucker, director of the Society for Democracy in the Middle East, delivered his speech and said: “We have gathered in front of the UN to draw the world’s attention to a great injustice; the Multi National Force and the United States are committed to protection of Ashraf and they shouldn’t transfer it; PMOI members of Ashraf were the ones who were able to unite Iraqis, from all religions and ethnic groups, against export of fundamentalism by the Iranian clerical regime; we have gathered here so treason to justice doesn’t take place in silence, and hereby call on all relevant international entities and communities including International Committee of Red Cross(ICRC) and the UN Secretary General to observe all international humanitarian treaties regarding Ashraf residents.

Professor Zucker, along with a delegation of Ashraf residents’ families, referred to the office of UN Secretary General and handed over a letter from sit-in participants addressed to Ban Ki-moon asking for an immediate measure taken by the UN Secretary General regarding Ashraf residents’ rights and protection of Ashraf.

An exhibition regarding violation of human rights in Iran was set up in the sit-in place which was welcomed by the American citizens and foreigners
