In Paris, a largely-attended conference was held in support of uprising women in the Arab World who are struggling against dictatorships and fundamentalism, and the determined Iranian women in camps Ashraf and Liberty, the Jordan-based Addustoor daily reported.
In this conference, convened at the initiative of the International Federation of Women Against Fundamentalism and for Equality (WAFE), dozens of political dignitaries and women’s rights activists, including Maryam Rajavi, French Senate Vice-President Bariza Khiari, former German Bundestag President Rita Süssmuth, European Union Humanitarian Ambassador Tasha de Vasconcelos and MPs from various countries around the globe delivered speeches.
“The Iranian regime has reached a dead-end inside the country,” Maryam Rajavi said referring to the Iranian regime’s attempts to derail Middle East and North African movements and revolutions. “Therefore, the rulers in Iran need to hijack the fate of the Arab Spring.”
