Iran: twelfth consecutive day of general strikes in Baneh and other cities

Iran, April 26, 2018 – Residents, merchants and shop owners of the city of Baneh, in the Kurdistan province, western Iran, gathered in front of the Governorate's office and laid down empty tables to display their poverty and lack of food, for the twelfth consecutive day of general strikes.

In the city of Baneh, children carried signs that read: "Daddy cannot feed us", "Our tables are empty", "I am a porter, and porters are hungry."

In the city of Ilam, also in western Iran, local workers of the Petrochemical Company went on strike. A group of local residents gathered in support of the striking workers.

 

 

A group of investors plundered by the Caspian financial institution in Kerman, southeastern Iran, deranged one of the branches of the institution and closed it down.

 

Workers at the Ghazvin Steel Company, in the city of Takestan, northwestern Iran, staged a protest gathering.
