The lifeless body of “Kani Agushi” was found hanging from the door of her home on Tuesday, June 30. This 22-year old young woman was in her fourth year of college and she is the daughter of Mohammad Amin Agushi, a political prisoner detained in Zahedan Prison. Prior to this last year the wife of this jailed teacher had gone into a coma and lost her life a month later in a hospital in Piranshahr (western Iran).
Kani Agushi lived with her brother, Jamal Agushi, after her mother’s death.
It is said the psychological pressures resulting from losing her mother and her father being jailed were the main reasons behind her suicide.
Following this event last Tuesday Mr. Agushi was summoned and in prison he was informed that his daughter had committed suicide. However, despite referring to the forensics office, the agents have prevented him receiving her body. This political prisoner says he has been in jail for a few years, his wife died last year and that status of his family is currently very painful.
