Alessandro Pagano, Deputy Chairman of the Italian Parliament Budget Committee, issued a statement condemning the recent rocket attacks by Iranian regime affiliates against Camp Ashraf residents.
Excerpts of this statement are as follows:
“The rocket attack against refugees stationed in Ashraf on Christmas Eve by the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards is not only an aggression against the residents’ fundamental rights that must be condemned by all of the international community, it is in fact a military act.
“While the Iranian regime is attempting to maintain the West in obscurity, there is hope that urgent action by the UN will be shown to have these criminal acts stopped. Furthermore, it is necessary for effective measures to be approved against the Iranian regime, including sanctions.”
