A number of Ardebil Steel factory workers gathered on Sunday Dec. 28 in front of the Labor Office to demand answers from regime authorities as to what happened to their pledge of reopening of the factory.
A protesting worker said: it is more than 4 months since our salaries have not been paid, and we are waiting to see the factory reopens, but there is no news of that. The last thing we heard from the authorities was that the project had started in time of Ahmadi Nejad’s government, and was executed without pre-planning and scientific assessments. And therefore to reactivate and reopen the project needs lots of assets and planning and it must be with the cooperation of private sectors.
Ardebil Steel Factory has reached the end of its production ability and a step away from being shut down despite months of stress and workers’ anxiety, The protesters were carrying placards against anti-labor policies of the Mullahs’ regime.
