The Council of Foreign Affairs in the United States posted an article in its website saying Bashar Assad’s war in Syria to maintain his power has currently become a war for Iran, and it is increasingly changing from a civil war into a war for Iran.
The Assad regime is facing many problems from recruiting soldiers for the army from the Alawite sect. They are no longer willing to risk their lives for Assad.
This article adds efforts to conduct recruiting amongst the Alawite sect are carried out under Iran’s orders.
Assad’s forces, backed by Iran’s Quds Force units, clashed with the residents of two Alawite villages of al-Bared and al-Qahire that refused to join his army’s files. These clashes erupted after such orders were issued by a local Quds Force commander.
